SSS contributions are calculated based on your Monthly Salary Credit (MSC). The higher your MSC, the higher your contribution, which also translates to higher future benefits. The calculation is as follows:
- Employed Members: Total contribution = Employee share + Employer share, both based on your MSC. The latest contribution rate is 13% of the MSC.
- Self-employed/Voluntary Members: Total contribution = 13% of the MSC, fully shouldered by the individual.
- Example Calculation: If your MSC is ₱20,000, your total monthly contribution will be ₱2,600 (₱1,000 from you and ₱1,600 from your employer). It’s essential to select the right MSC to balance your contributions and future benefits.
